I originally began my collegiate career with the aspirations of becoming a high school math teacher. I attended the University of Connecticut and earned a BA in Mathematics. After graduating UConn, I was accepted into the Master's Degree Program for Secondary Mathematics Education at Central Connecticut State University. I have taken math for 4 years in college. It is a subject that I very much enjoy-so much that all of my sons are also strong in mathematics. My oldest is a national merit scholar finalist, and my youngest son is captain of his high school math team. Math is fun, like a puzzle-once the student sees this fact, they begin having more fun and less fear of the subject.
I am a patient teacher, and I use many different ways of communication. I try to find the style of learning best suited to my pupil. Removing the fear of the subject seems to be the most important part.
