A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught science in grades 7 -12 in a 5 different public schools over a course of 15 years. I taught high school level Earth science for 2 years, HS Biology and AP Biology for 12 years, HS Chemistry for 8 years and Physics for 4 years. I taught 7 and 8th grade in the Albany Public schools for 4 years. I currently work with adults with disabilities teaching them work and social skills and will be teaching a Child Development course beginning 9/29/10. While earning my degree in earth and atmospheric science I was a tutor to underclassmen at my university in the subjects of earth science and geography. My education consists of a Bachelors of Arts degree in chemistry, with a minor in biology and significant field experience in academic research in both fields. My inaugural teaching experience was as an HEOP tutor for introductory physics. I have been a freelance tutor for organic chemistry for over a year, and have tutored Regents chemistry as well, and have volunteered my services to fellow students for two and a half years.

Before earning a BA in Biology at Skidmore College and after graduating high school, I took three years off to play hockey. Concurrently, I enrolled in classes at Mount Wachusett Community College in Massachusetts and tutored in the math department. I tutored students in algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and some calculus. At Skidmore I continued in math, taking calculus I, II, and III, and linear algebra before focusing my attention on molecular biology.
