Having raised two children, I volunteered several hundred hours at my son's school and found that I desired to be part the classroom experience. Changing my course of study to Elementary Education, I had taken coursework relevant to K-12 studies, assessments, management and curriculum. I believe students will rise to the level of expectations set for them. I am a bit of a comedian, and I use humor to allay frustration in learning situations. I believe in setting goals and charting a specific path for reaching them, while being flexible enough to alter the path along the way. Praise and positive reinforcement are powerful tools when teaching challenging material, and I use them frequently. I received a BA in General Business from WSU, and was honored as a Cum Laude graduate. The courses were varied and included a wide array of math application, from supply and demand curves to interest rate calculations. My classmates gave me the nickname "Webster" because I was frequently asked to edit their papers and to tutor them in several different subjects. My master's thesis was on computer-based training. My experience includes teaching end users and other trainers (train the trainer). Classroom training subjects have included using software programs, developing online documentation, writing skills, communications training, policies and so on. Past clients have been Blue Cross Blue Shield, U.S. Navy, Chevron and many more. Further, I have mentored co-workers in the past and enjoy one-on-one coaching very much.
