A Little Bit About Me...

An easy concise approach for the student to gain a better understanding of the subject.
I have basic experience tutoring and helping students with homework or concepts they didn't grasp well. Mainly helped out in math subjects as they are easier to explain with concepts and derivation so nothing just gets thrown out of nowhere and the student understands how it came into being. The students I tutored ended up making grades with a high B and above.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since graduation college, I have been employed in the private sector of environmental chemistry laboratories. Part of my responsibilities include teaching and training new employees. This includes both the physical and chemical concepts as well as the math required to report results as produced by meters and instrumentation. Secondly, I tutored Freshman Algebra and various sciences while in college. And, most recently, I have been homeschooling my kids for the past 4 years. My daughter is now a Sophomore and will begin taking dual credit coursework next Fall under my tutoring.
I have spent a career in science. I believe that quality one on one or small group teaching is the best way to improve an understanding of what can be complicated concepts and have them make sense. In my science teaching, I always utilized the learning by doing method by making use of field experience and laboratory exercises. In mathematics, I mostly attempted to teach my students good problem solving skills.
I taught 11 years, grades 6-12 in the subjects of mathematics 6-12, physical science, life science, earth science, biology, chemistry and physics at Union Schools, Brownfield, Texas and Plains Schools at Plains Texas. I was a learning center director for 7 1/2 years and finally a director of Media and Technology at Education Service Center - Region 17 at Lubbock, Texas.
