Prior to my work in libraries I spent five years working as the supervisor of an after school program and summer camp for children ages 6 - 12. I developed a stern but kind teaching style which allowed me to manage over 150 children and 10 full time staff. It is with patience, genuine interest, and enthusiasm that I approach any human interaction and this is particularly important in a learning environment. I appreciate that everyone has his or her own unique learning style which I honor.
