My passion in life is to work with children. I love helping children learn and to see the "light bulb" go off in their head. I believe that all children can learn, but they learn in many different ways. My motto for teaching is "Learning to discover, and discovering to learn." I can sit and lecture on a subject for hours, but only when the student connects with the material will learning take place. I also believe in making learning relevant and interesting to the student. All students have the potential to grasp concepts, but sometimes they just need someone to be patient and encourage them. I am that person. I am a graduate of West Virginia State University, with a BA in psychology. I graduated magna kum laude. I tutored last when I was in High School, but worked with children for two years at Highland Hospital. I am an avid reader and would love to teach others to enjoy it. As a child, I entered the gifted program very young and have always tutored my peers. Tutoring led me to join the Quiz Bowl and other Academic Teams as well as led me to graduate high school early. I earned my BS is Music Education and have completed additional coursework required for re-certification. I have substiute taught many classes and did a long term position teaching 6th grade science.
