A Little Bit About Me...

It is my goal that the efforts of students produce more then just good grades. I assess their needs, the way they think, and what ends they may apply what they’re learning so that I may adapt my teaching style. In this way, I can help students engage in the material in such a way that the knowledge that they receive is important and applicable to their lives now or beyond high school. To this end, I have, in the past, used teaching methods designed for different types of intelligences, examples of relevant modern applications, historical examples and stories, and designed new methods for teaching students who do not respond to practiced methods.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am interested in tutoring because I love teaching regardless of the subject matter. I’ve been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to try several different content areas such as Special Education 7th grade Science in a Push-In model, ESOL, Home and Careers, Career and Financial Management as well as substitute teaching in many areas K-12, in addition to teaching technology in multiple districts. My background as a manufacturing engineer gives me a vantage point of what is required in the real world for success and survival in the working world. Even though teaching is my second career, it is truly what I love to do. Working one to one with students to help them find success in school, while enjoying learning, is my personal goal.
