My comments on tutoring Writing : I have taught writing for thirty years in various grades from Kindergarten to sixth grade. Also, I have to write assignments in my doctoral degree courses such as literature reviews, discussions, and research articles.

My teaching style with students of all ages is to facilitate their learning as opposed to simply feeding them what I feel is the best response. Students learning is maximized when they can take ownership of and pride in their work. I am very patient. Often people will not consider an infant or toddler a "functioning human being" until the child can speak. This is so inaccurate! I taught one of my daughters to read at age four.
