English ESOL is one of my top subjects! Taught English ESOL in Japan for four years, working with students from toddler to senior citizen.

I have a fairly relaxed style, though I am flexible and can adjust to whatever will make the student(s) most comfortable.
I worked as an ESL teacher in Japan for almost four years teaching people of all ages, from toddlers to senior citizens. The opportunity to live in Japan, coupled with study in university has also given me an intermediate level of Japanese. In high school I also had a position as an assistant teacher at a karate dojo, working with large groups of children of all ages. After being admitted into a highly selectively liberal arts college, I dedicated myself to the study of French, Spanish and English literature, graduating with several honors. I am a recent graduate of the University of Washington with a BS in Chemistry. I also have a strong background in math and biology. Aside from my educational background, I have experience as an educator: from June 2007 to February 2008 I worked for a private language school in Prague, Czech Republic as an English language teacher.
I try to avoid giving students an answer immediately, but rather try to pry the answer out of them with questions so that they can figure out the answer themselves. I see teaching as helping/forcing the student to think things out and make discoveries for themselves, not just being spoon-fed information.
