A Little Bit About Me...

I am a native Spanish speaker, also fluent in English, who holds an active Spanish teaching certification issued by the state of Kentucky. Since I graduated from the University of Havana, Cuba in 1982 I have been teaching different grade levels students, from elementary school children through college and adults. I have deep knowledge of Spanish Grammar because I hold a Bachelor Degree in Philology, which is a five years program that studies Linguistics, History of the Language, Literature, Art, Advanced Grammar, Critic of Arts, among other related subjects.

As a Purdue graduate, I was the recipient of the highest level of instruction in math and science. As an undergraduate I was named on the Dean’s list six times and was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. In order to be granted this degree I was required to gain a great understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have been on the cutting edge of computer science from the first hand held calculators. I can program in FORTRAN, Assembly, Basic, Pascal, and C languages, on a variety of platforms. After working as an engineer for 20 years, I then pursued a teaching license and have taught High School math for the last decade.
