A Little Bit About Me...

For the past two years I have been employed as a Graduate Assistant at Morehead State University. My responsibilities as a graduate assistant included the preparation of laboratory materials, assisting professor in the lecture as well as the laboratory of undergraduate courses, tutoring students in addition to providing support in the classroom, directing students on laboratory techniques, proctoring and grading exams and other assigned materials. I have formal education experience as a science teacher in both the middle school setting (2 years), and the high school setting (1 year). I also have 3 years of informal education experience that will help me connect with students. I worked as a science educator for three years at the Louisville Science Center, creating labs and demos on every science subject. Additionally, I have been a coach for 12 years, giving me the ability to motivate and break things down. My biggest attribute as a tutor will be my ability to “think outside the box”. As a Purdue graduate, I was the recipient of the highest level of instruction in math and science. As an undergraduate I was named on the Dean’s list six times and was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. In order to be granted this degree I was required to gain a great understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have been on the cutting edge of computer science from the first hand held calculators. I can program in FORTRAN, Assembly, Basic, Pascal, and C languages, on a variety of platforms. After working as an engineer for 20 years, I then pursued a teaching license and have taught High School math for the last decade.
