My comments on tutoring Anatomy : Used Anatomy as a med. transcrip.

I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. I continued tutoring young students and adults in the 1990's, tutoring Basic Math, Basic and Intermediate Algebra, Basic Geometry, English Composition, Speech, Study Skills and the Sciences. In addition, tips were given to enhance test-taking skills in hard-to-Ace subjects like Economics. I have tutored for the Sickle Cell Organization in 2001, helping students catch up numerous missed assignments. I tutor when the opportunity presents itself. Last Summer-Fall I assisted a nursing student in Speech and helped with two research papers. More recently (Oct.2009-Jan.2010), I worked tutoring students grade 2-10. I began tutoring privately,as well as,for my school's learning center during the early 1990's. I have continued tutoring privately on and off for the past twenty years. I was a substitute teacher in California and Michigan during the 2000's. I also had my own high school level classroom in California for two school years. I was hired on an "Emergency Credential" because I had my BS but no teaching credential. I was laid off due to budget cuts in June of 2003. I also taught "at-risk" elementary age children during the summer for the Glendora Unifed School District in Glendora, CA. As I recent college graduate, I spent my four years gaining knowledge, as well as learning different teaching techniques. I worked at the Boys and Girls Club at the local middle school for my entire four years of college. Monday through Friday, I tutored elementary and middle school students in math, english, and health.
I enjoy working with young children, and helping them to understand the subject and how to apply it in their daily life. My overall goal is to help the child understand for their own good. It defeats the purpose if the child can do math or english while I am sitting right next to them.
