A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with the LAUSD district, at Granada Hills Elementary School, as an Instructional AID. This position required me to work with students hands on, either in groups or one-on-one. I helped students who were either falling behind on subjects or were having trouble finishing assignments. I also worked with groups of students helping them improve writing composition or comprehension skills. I also had students who were new to the country,with little English. I sat down with them an hour each day during school, working to improve their reading and writing skills. I have also work as an ELA tutor with NCLB Learning With Laptops. My teaching style is aimed at making the child feel good and happy with learning. Often children need tutoring in subjects that frustrate them, they miss one aspect and while they're spending time on that in class the teacher blazes past them adding more confusion. I take it upon myself to back track to the initial place where the confusion stemmed from and spend the time working through these rough patches.
