Since my very first year of Latin I, I have continuously demonstrated my affinity for the language’s grammar and syntax and received numerous accolades, including several gold and silver medals on the National Latin Exam and fives on both AP Latin exams. After achieving ‘Top Student of the Class’ at the University of Virginia’s Summer Language Institute in Latin, I proceeded to learn ancient Greek, another language to which I easily adapted. I went on after UVA to excel in the prestigious Post-Baccalaureate program in Classical Languages at the University of Pennsylvania, where I honed my proficiency in Latin and ancient Greek at a graduate level.

My teaching strategy can be summed up in two words: encouragement and enthusiasm. I believe that once I have given a student the tools to succeed, he or she can do so - with enough encouragement. My students at Indiana University have all noted on their course evaluations that my encouraging and positive attitude has helped them improve their reading and writing skills. I also believe that in a tutor, enthusiasm for the subject matter is key. I am incredibly enthusiastic about reading, writing, and grammar, among other things; I know that I pass this enthusiasm on to my students. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a strong educational background in liberal arts. I am particularly adept at writing and philosophy, but can teach most areas on a high school or grade school level. I taught High School students, made presentations to classes, tutored middle school children, and have taught elementary children as well.
My best teaching style involves facilitating group discussions. I particularly love the one to one teaching experiences while tutoring.
