A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with kids and teaching the things that I have learned. I am confident that I can make concepts as simple as possible, so people who usually have trouble understanding ideas in math and science may have a breakthough. Coming from a very competitive school like UCLA I have acquired skills in test taking which are very valuable and I would like to pass these on to prospective college students.
As a Biology student at both Saddleback and the ultra competitive UCLA, I was able to achieve high marks in all of the core cirriculum. I like to use the book as an outline of the material to be taught. Visual aids are very important to me. I believe pictures are worth a thousand words. I am very patient and great with communicating ideas to others.

I started tutoring classmates in seventh grade and tutored friends in college in Trigonometry. I have earned two BS degrees in Landscape Architecture and Computer Science with a minor in Math. this diverse education allows me to tutor in Math and Science as well as design and art. For the past 10 years, I have worked in my community, helping to better the lives of children. At age 15, I began mentoring young girls and volunteering for a non-profit organization, counseling developmentally delayed children and at-risk youth. I later went on to become a Behavioral Therapist, educating children with autism. My love for children (and passion for education) was the determining factor in the course of my college career.
