I would love the opportunity to teach grade school children. It was during my formidable years that I can recall a young lady who impacted my education in a very significant way. Additionally, I also have very fond memories of several children who I mentored through tutoring. My innate enthusiastic nature has facilitated a strong desire with the children to participate in the learning process in many unique ways. I gain tremendous joy and satisfaction through observing this process.
Earning a degree in Communications accelerated my skills in writing through Journalism, research papers and Rhetorical studies. Additionally, writing is something I enjoy and practice on a daily basis. I have participated in two summer school programs (2nd and 4th grade) in NYC that helped prepare students to retake state tests in the areas of math and literacy. I have also been tutoring full-time in Brooklyn, NY for two children ages 8 and 10. Along with this I worked in a recreation center and helped children with their homework from first grade to eighth for two years. I have a teacher certification from birth to grade two and have a BS in Psychology. I have worked with students who are native Spanish speakers and also students with learning disabilities.
