I began as a Program Manager, but also have experience as the Director of Education. A Little Bit About Me...

My approach to teaching is more of a "why" approach. It is more important for students to know why something is or works rather than just how. This approach works well for middle and high school students. It allows students not only to understand the ideas taught but to apply them to other areas as well. I also like to use visual aids as well as conversation. I have found that many of us vary widely in learning styles. Some are visual learners, others are audio learners, and still others are a combination. I work well one-on-one but also enjoy small groups. I look forward to working with you or your children to produce results they can be proud of.

I am an upcoming May 2006 graduate from Allegheny College, majoring in English. Given my background at a small, liberal arts college and being a former biochemistry major, I have a great understanding of language arts, math and science. I am a graduate from the Marshall University School of Education. I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education which has enabled me to learn a lot about Elementary curriculum as well as the skills and strategies used to teach elementary children.
