My innovative approach to tutoring is using the Sokratic Method while transcribing the results of the process. All questioning and answering derived from this method is meticulously and clearly documented on paper and in audio (later burned to a CD) for the pupil to refer back to as study material. This is a powerful study tool after the pupil's knowledge has been scrutinized, as it helps them visualize and review their thinking and learning. Slowly but surely the pupil begins to develop better study skills and a deeper understanding of the material he/she wishes to learn. The most important term to categorize my teaching style is low pressure. Many years of education in math and science has shown me that the intensity and stress often associated with this branch of education is entirely counterproductive. A more supportive approach to learning and math and science produces greater understanding and breadth of knowledge as well as creativity.
