A Little Bit About Me...

During the completion of my BMA, I accepted a tutoring position and tutored all students (including disabled students) for two years. I eventually moved on to substituting for professors and even gained an assistant to the professor position, which included developing and teaching lesson plans. I have excellent communication skills with students and the ability to determine effective ways to help each student learn in their unique way. Although I have done mainly music tutoring, I am extremely confident in mathematics, sciences, and english.
I have the ability to work with diverse students of all ages and levels. Whether the student is 15 or 50, I can help the him/her learn and feel comfortable around me. I've worked as an engineer in the electronics and electrical engineering industry for 14 years. I have tutored children in math and science for the last 4 years, most recently in high school algebra and geometry.
I believe in demonstrating how to do the work and then guiding the children as they apply what has been demonstrated. The best way to learn is by doing under supervised guidance. Once the children learn to apply the proper steps to accomplish the task at hand, the feeling of accomplishment drives them to continue on their own.
