Making government interesting.

I'm very direct and try to lead you to the answers rather than directly giving them to you. I find that students who are given answers don't fully comprehend the material which could hurt them down the road. Additionally, I try to relate the various aspects of government to students by showing them the impact of governmental decisions.
I currently serve as an adjunct professor at one of the Oklahoma City area universities. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and believe I am definately qualified for your needs. Every child can learn, but they don't all learn the same way

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I am currently a second grade teacher. I tutor during the summers and have students of all ages, including middle school and high school. As a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, I began my teaching career in mathematics at the junior high school level. I taught Algebra I to eighth graders. While teaching, I returned to school and received my M.Ed as a Reading Specialist. After working in that area for a few years, I became an inner city high school principal. I remained in that capacity for approximately twenty years. I generally try to remain as friendly as possible with the tutee so that he/she can relax and learn in a comfortable environment. I work on a first-name basis and try to make sure that the student is LEARNING, rather than merely finishing his/her homework. I teach using a Platonic method, asking prodding questions and getting the tutee to figure out the material him/herself. Occasionally, I have to teach in a more stern and disciplined manner b/c the student is distracted or doesn't feel like doing the work.
