Teaching has always been something that I've greatly enjoyed. Whether it was helping a special needs student read, or an undergraduate history student finish a term paper, I appreciate the opportunity to help others achieve academic success. When working with students, I exercise a great deal of patience. I am also a firm believer in allowing students to achieve their potential through hard work. I find the best way to do this is by asking questions that lead the student to the answer. The proverbial "light bulb" that the student reaches when he realizes that he does indeed know the answer is very rewarding for both the teacher and the student. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, I began my teaching career in mathematics at the junior high school level. I taught Algebra I to eighth graders. While teaching, I returned to school and received my M.Ed as a Reading Specialist. After working in that area for a few years, I became an inner city high school principal. I remained in that capacity for approximately twenty years. I was searching for a new challenge and joined the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education to administer an AmeriCorp grant called Smart Start for Brain Gain 2010. In that capacity I worked with colleges and public schools throughout Oklahoma to develop tutoring and mentoring programs in reading and mathematics. Once the grant ran out, I returned to the classroom and am currently the Reading Specialist for Moore High School in Moore,Oklahoma.
