I believe in starting where someone is. I spend the first meeting getting to know the student, what he or she doesn't know, and what they need to know to be successful. I believe everyone is an individual and must be taught with this in mind. Each person is their own classroom, bringing with them their unique experiences to the learning situation. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style involves the student not only in the curriculum but also in the world around them. I enjoy helping students to relate what they have learned to outside the classroom. For example when teaching about a significant event in history, I challenge the student to think about how they would have thought about it in the past and how they can relate it to current events. I believe that every student has the capability to achieve great things both academically and for their community if given positive encouragement and an opportunity to encounter new ideas.
As a graduate of Arkansas State University with a degree in history, I achieved an excellent rapport with the faculty and the administration in the pursuit of my degree.
