My comments on tutoring World History : I have a history Minor attached to my undergraduate degree. I specialize in Russian History, American History, and European History.

I love sharing my knowledge with others, whether it's in a group or one-on-one. I make sure that my pupils can easily comprehend what is going on during the lesson. Questions are a good indicator that active comprehension is taking place, and I am there to make sure that any and all questions that are to be had will be answered. I'm not one to "spoon-feed" per se, but if specialized attention is needed on a specific topic or subject, I am there to help with any and all questions that may arise during the process.

A Little Bit About Me...

For the last two years I have taught college level biology labs. These have been introductory biology classes with course material beginning with cell biology and ending with ecology. In 2010 I received the Outstanding Teaching Assistant award form the biology department. My experiences are in both biology and environmental science.
I enjoy working with students to help them understand biology and how they participate in a biological world. I believe that the most important concept in teaching is engagement with the student. I ask a lot of questions to get the students thinking. I believe in teaching young people and the adults I have worked with to think critically fist. Then I work with them on being able to articulate and write their ideas down...subject matter follows naturally if they have the confidence and can just think for themselves not just spit back facts and what others want to hear. A Little Bit About Me...

I think that in today's public education system, with ever-growing class sizes some students get thrown to the wayside. These students need a more personalized learning plan that offers them head-to-head or small group discussions. I can relate to the child who remains silent because he doesn't think his question is smart enough. Subsequently, that child starts getting left behind little by little until they feel completely lost and abandoned and become disillusioned with the whole education system. My hope is to convince some of these children that they can make their educations work for them and maybe even become the child in class that begins to want to help others learn and grow.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated college in 1985 and then pursued many different jobs over the last 25 years. My degree in History/Political Science allowed me to be something of a jack-of-all trades in respect to my career. I have done both office work and factory work as well as customer service. However, my last job is perhaps most relevant to this position, because I was in South Korea for 3 1/2 years teaching English to South Korean children ages 5 to 15.
