I love working with people and have done my best to always be doing so throughout my life. While in high school, I tutored and mentored other high school students. While in college, I started working with all age groups (pre-K through college), working as a mentor and a tutor for fellow college students. I have learned the importance of adapting my teaching style to the person that I am working with in order to help them succeed. I want every person that I help to reach his or her full potential. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience as a teacher has shown me the importance of an open mind and a thoughtful response. I believe learning comes out of asking questions. It is the instructor's job to encourage thoughtful questions. To do this, the student must be made to feel at ease around the teacher and confident enough to ask the questions they really need answered to succeed. If a student is ridiculed for asking a "stupid" question there is less chance of that student asking questions in the future and less chance of the student succeeding in a course.
I hold a BS in Chemistry from Utah State University and have completed the requirements for a MS in Chemistry from the University of Oregon.
