Four years tutoring at the undergraduate college level when I was an undergraduate student myself. This includes calculus 1&2&3 and college algebra. Also physics, chemistry and biology. My style of teaching includes visual explanation (white board or chalk board), oral discussion, and hands-on manipulation when ever possible. A Little Bit About Me...

I worked as a tutor all through college at Iowa State University. I tutored Math (up through Trig), general and organic chemistry, and statistics 101. These were the main classes I taught, but I also did Spanish 1, ecology, and food science/nutrition. I also tutored some high school students in all subjects but mostly math and science.
I love helping people. I believe that no one is stupid just some people are better in some areas than other people. I enjoy helping people learn because I love seeing the "light bulb click on above their head" when they finally grasp a concept. I have been involved every year since 1975 in the work of an educator, mostly for pay, but occasionally as a volunteer, either community- or faith-based, in three states and two foreign countries. Leadership was usually demonstrated in teaching for proprietory institutions in curriculum development and in the processes of actual recruitment. In fifth-grade teaching of English language learners, my class for two semesters won the highest attendance record for 3rd-5th graders in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
