I have a B.S. in Education from NIU,Illinois. Graduate work at Northridge State,CA. I'm a volunteer tutor at Mary's Place/Sharing and Caring. I've been a Reserve Teacher for the Mpls Public schools specializing in Special Ed. for five and one half years. I'm a history judge every year for History Day.
Patient. Positive.Encouraging. Keeping it light. My primary aim would be to build the student's self confidence and image. Encouraging enthusiasm for the subject matter,by making it more receptive,would be an additional desired outcome. After I received my degree in Elementary Education, I was a substitute teacher in IA for one year. I then worked, taught and advised at a small private college in Iowa. I have also owned and operated a daycare in my home for over three years. Currently have have spent the past two years as a substitute teacher for the Buffalo, MN school district. This is a job I love for the simple fact that I have variety everyday. It is also a great way to stay up to date on all subject matter. I am also in the process of earning my Master's Degree in Education.
