I have just started to work with students in my class for some of my business classes while in school. I have notice that I have helped a lot not just understand the work, but also comprehend it in class as well. There are so many different teaching styles and learning styles. As a tutor the teaching style is going to be dependent on the student's learning style. Not everyone can teach. As a Dean, I had to interview many potential instructors. I believe that a teacher needs to be caring, compassionate and encourage students at all times. It took me 6 years to earn my Associates Degree, but thanks to some very good teachers and tutors I finally got it. Once I finished I found I missed school and decided to go back. I earned my Bachelors and Masters and found I have a passion for teaching in the process. I believe students can learn anything if they are hungry enough to learn it. I like to teach by example and also use hands-on learning techniques. The best way I would learn is by trying it myself, then I would allow a teacher or a coach show me where I need to improve, they then would show me how to correct the mistake.
