A Little Bit About Me...

I really love teaching and finding different ways of using analogies and similarities to explain difficult concepts. I have been very successful in teaching the sciences and mathematics courses in an understandable way. I believe that everyone is capable of learning the material, it simply needs to be presented in the correct way. Some students are more verbal learners, others are more visual learners. My first experience as a teacher came in high school when I held a part-time job at a Kumon Math and Reading Center. As an undergraduate student at Columbia University I held several after school tutoring positions, some paid and some volunteer. Upon graduation I decided to join Teach For America. For the past year and a half I have been teaching high school mathematics in rural Hawaii while concurrently pursuing a master of education in teaching degree from the University of Hawaii.
