While attaining my genetics degree at Ohio State, I worked at the OSU Chimpanzee Center. After graduating, I started working for the Department of Agriculture in the Weights and Measures division. It was my job to try to "trick" the scales before they could become available for commercial use. I moved back home to Coshocton when I got married. I quickly found a job teaching adults within our county's GED program. I easily became the math and science "guru" with my background and began getting my Masters in Education from Muskingum University. Now I train other adult education directors around the state how to improve their own adult education programs. I have spent the past three years focusing on the instruction of math and language.

Being in college for four years exposed me to social environments that I normally wouldn't have been able to encounter on a day to day basis. Whether I was learning on my own, working with or helping fellow classmates, or even just observing how the professors worked with us, I was always learing new concepts or methods of how to interact with a wide variety of characteristics in a diverse group of people. And due to the difficulty of my major, I feel that by being able to communicate well with others in this area I could handle various other scenarios as well. I am highly self-motivated and enjoy sharing my knowledge and ideas with others.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with a degree in Physical Science Education, which gives me a strong background in Physical Sciences and in math. I have worked with children and youth of all age levels and nearly every ability. I ran an afterschool program for the Salvation Army, ran a boys home for troubled boys and worked in St. Paul City schools as a substitute teacher and a night teacher at an evening school. I also have worked six summers at a Salvation Army camp. Through these experiences I have worked with both gifted and special needs children and youth.
I believe that all children have the capability to learn if someone is willing to be patient and work with them. I enjoy having fun with youth while learning and teaching those I work with the value of what they are learning.
