I am a retired classroom teacher from Michigan Public School Systems, with 30 plus years teaching experience. I have experience at all levels (7-12) of English, Speech Education, and Drama. A Little Bit About Me...

Currently, my experience with teaching has been in an online environment. In the past I have worked with staff members to provide training. In regard to children, the thought of being able to help them become successful with their reading and math skills draws me in, and I feel that my creativity and organization as well as desire to meet challenges would make me an excellent tutor.

I feel that I am a natural educator. I often find my self teaching people simple tasks at work, or being called upon by friends and family members to assist them, or their children with their homework. My teaching style is best described as adaptive. We all learn differently, some more so by doing, others by seeing or listening, and others by thinking it through. Learning is a combination of processes, emphasizing what works best. For me, the approach is to use what works best for the student to learn what needs to be learned, with the underlying objective of the student learning how to learn - meaning a self-awareness of what works best for him or her. The tough learning is slugging it through the stuff that we just don’t seem to get or seems to have no value in our future lives.
