I fundamentally believe anyone can learn. If a student isn’t grasping a concept, it just means I have to change my style of teaching. I graduated from SUNY@Oneonta with BS in English. I was going in the field of education but i wanted to graduate on time. After graduation, i was working in the field of retail. I still had the desire to teach so i signed up as a substitute teacher 5 years ago. I love teaching and currently in pursuit of obtaining my teaching certification in the field of 7-12 English.During the past five years, I have tutored a family friend's child. Now, he does not need my assistance because he is doing well in his classes.
I am aware of different ways of teaching methods. I like to get to know the student so I can engage his/her mind.I prefer the hands-on method and work from the child's work. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience teaching started when I worked for Northlands Job Corps Academy. The students that I helped usually came to me not for their classwork, but because they held an interest in learned how their computers and personal devices worked. I feel that most learning comes from performing an activity rather than being lectured, so I prefer to give students a chance to perform the work after I show them a few basics (supervised of course).
I am a Senior Computer Science major at Siena college; my programming experience covers a range of languages, although my strongest is Java. I love working with people, and have a lot of patience. I work hard to let the student work through problems themselves before assisting them. A lot of students I have spent time with just need a small amount of encouragement and are very capable of completing their work. I enjoy working with different types of people, and adapt my style to fit their needs.
I started tutoring in 9th grade, and continued until my freshman year of college. I tutored middle school and high school students in math, sciences, and social studies.
