In 20 years of teaching experience I have tutored students of all ages, different socio-economic backgrounds and intellectual abilities, as well as in a wide variety of subjects. I have tutored in four public school systems, in private practice with with adults who needed help to prepare for tests and for adults who either wanted to study for their own enrichment or to advance in the corporate world.

Between my studies at Roberts Wesleyan College in the liberal arts field, where I earned a bachelors degree, and my studies in math and computational science I have an exceptionally broad knowledge base. The educators in VN were very tough. Call it tough love. While I learned a great deal, I always felt "abused" by the teachers (nuns). Many times during the school week, I came home with red markings on my face or hands. I take a softer approach. If you get a child excited, he/she will learn best! Human nature loves to play so if games can somehow be integrated into learning, voila! My nieces and nephews all asked their parents to have me teach them. Adult learners are no different. They too will respond appropriately if the lessons can be tied to their everyday experiences.
