I like to use examples and cater my lessons to what the student needs to work on (i.e. homework, test-prep). I also differentiate my style based on whether the student learns best through audio, visual, or kinesthetic means. Teaching can be a very powerful tool used when dealing with kids. Kids are a very delicate case when administering new information that they are needed to process/learn.
