My teaching style allows students to explore their own creativity and personal talents by giving them a chance to try out new art techniques and styles that I have taught them on their own. My belief is that each student has a special gift or vision of their own as an artist. As an art teacher I give students the tools and careful instruction to achieve great results. I have experience teaching art classes to students ranging in ages from kindergarten to high school. I have also worked with disabled students in art instruction and facilitation in various institutions. As an artist my paintings range in styles of impressionist and realism in vivid colors. I like to see where the student is at, what they are interested to learn and go from there. I like to expose them to all areas if they are open as I feel it can help them in other ways to enhance other skills. It is important for students to move at their own pace, while encouraging them. I start with basic drawing, watercolor, etc., introducing them slowly to other mediums if they are open. I like them to have a good understanding of the medium they are working on before moving to another. Also, I like to incorporate times where there is a crafty project to keep in fun and interesting. My parents noticed when I was very young that I had natural artistic ability and put me into private art lessons.
