I am currently a junior at East Tennessee State University majoring in Geography with a minor in International Affairs. I have a 3.9 GPA in college and graduated in the top 5% of my class at Science Hill High School with a 3.9 GPA. I have an extensive background in the field of social studies, having taken multiple AP and honors level social studies courses in high school and studying it in college. I am knowledgable in study skills for students of all ages having tutored several friends in high school. I also know the basics of elementary education and can tutor in that as well.

I have a history Minor attached to my undergraduate degree. I specialize in Russian History, American History, and European History. I love sharing my knowledge with others, whether it's in a group or one-on-one. I make sure that my pupils can easily comprehend what is going on during the lesson. Questions are a good indicator that active comprehension is taking place, and I am there to make sure that any and all questions that are to be had will be answered. I'm not one to "spoon-feed" per se, but if specialized attention is needed on a specific topic or subject, I am there to help with any and all questions that may arise during the process. During my high school and university careers, I have focused primarily on languages and language acquisition. I have studied 12 different languages and I have obtained varying degrees of proficiency in each of them: Latin, Romanian, French, Italian

I have worked with different levels of mental health and emotional maturity for several years. I have spent much of my spare time working within the community at youth centers, soup kitchens and veteran administration homes. I feel that working with many different types and levels of human functioning has enabled me to be more able to adjust my teaching and assisting styles to better serve my community. Each person learns at an individual pace. I use the Gardner system of multiple intelligences to facilitate individual learning style. Motivational, easy going, encouraging , never critical. I love working with children and I enjoy seeing their light bulb come on.
