My teaching philosophy centers on individual learning. The first priority is to determine what method is best for getting an individual to process information. The second step is then to breakdown the material and removing the myth that a traditionally challenging course is simply a "myth" and depends solely on the effort given by the student. I utilize a variety of methods (models, flash cards, simplified mechanisms, acronyms, etc) that help simplify the complex material that is presented in lecture. I truly enjoy my teaching profession. The moment when a student who has been struggling for understanding starts to put all the information together and applies it is "priceless". My teaching style always includes getting to know and understand the "learning style" of the student or students. If the initial technique does not work then I will keep trying different methods to present the material until the student and I agree that the subject has been mastered.
