I believe that one particular style is not necessarily appropriate for all areas of studies or for students with varying assets and deficits. However, I attempt to have the student as involved and interactive with the learning rocess as can be achieved, and being legally trained, often employ the "Socratic Method"--an exchange of dialogue, which maximizes the student's participation and involvement, and even, on occasion, development of the learning process.
I provided volunteer services to disadvantaged youngsters in math, reading in Chicago and Florida. I have taught legal writing and was a substitute teacher in Lee and Collier Counties. My style of education has always been as an encourager/motivator. I worked with middle and high school students at a vocational center, who the regular schools had given up on. I had great success since I have a high level of energy and passion for learning and motivating people, whether in the classroom, on the athletic field or in the community and church arena(both of which I volunteer in). I like to teach by example and immersion. So much of what schools preach today is rote memorization, and to a certain degree, this cannot be avoided. But whenever possible, I like to try and find real world applications and demonstrations to get my lessons across to my pupil.
Throughout high school and college, I've always excelled in my school work. I was president of the math club and often tutored my peers during my spare time.
