What I have garnered from directing theatre is that everyone learns at their own pace, and I utilize that when I teach and coach as well. What I aim to do is create a trusting atmosphere, and employ a positive and nurturing demeanor. I also stress the importance of being focused and prepared, not just with specific subject matter, but in all phases of life, too. A positive outlook can have a major impact on the ability to learn and retain information, and I encourage and project this.

When teaching, I speak with my students about the kinds of activities they feel assist them most in retaining information as well as observing their learning style independently.
