Working in education since 2006 with ages 6 weeks to 18 years. I have student teaching experience from kindergarten thru 12th grade. I have substitute taught for kindergarten thru 12th grade as well. I have been enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard since June 2012, and am currently enrolled in the Officer Candidate Program. I believe that the most important element determining the degree to which a student will achieve is the level of expectations that are set for them. High, clear expectations with consistent feedback on progress is absolutely critical to making the most significant academic gains possible. Students should know exactly what they are expected to do, and should be able to track their own progress towards demanding goals along the way.
