I think that everyone has a propensity to learn a language and each student needs someone very patient to go down the path of language learning with them. A student learning a foreign language must speak the language a lot, so I will place an important emphasis on conversational skills. Once a student can converse correctly and comfortably in another language, they will have more fluency in their writing, reading and listening skills. There will also be an emphasis in authentic learning materials, and will consist of materials made by and for Spanish Speakers in Latin America and Spain. Throughout all of my academic career, I have never been paid for helping other students-my friends-with their homework. Yet, I have still done it when they asked. In high school, I usually helped the struggling athletes, even though I too was an athlete; this continued in college. In sophomore year of college, I was the peer teacher in Stephens Success class, where I helped students with various issues. In speaking of Academics/Subjects I have personally not gotten below a A- since I was in second grade and can tutor in a variety of subjects including English, Math, Biology, and Chemistry. In the summer of 2008, I also taught autistic children.
