I find I learn the most when I can relate a subject or theme to something current or more familiar to me. Finding something a student is interested in and trying to break down a complicated matter into simple, easy to remember parts when possible that they can relate to in an easy manner. I find this very effective with students who may have ADHD or just some trouble focusing on occasion. I have seven years of upper level education experience with a wide variety of subjects. Four of those years I was involved in teaching and tutoring other college students. I also have worked with younger students, mostly with biology, history and research writing. I have done research in various fields of biology, specifically aquatic biology.

I hold a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from Morehead State University and a Bachelor's Degree in History from Alice Lloyd College. Classes I have taught include United State History, World History, World Geography and Law & Justice. My teaching style varies depending on the students I am teaching. It consists of lecture notes, handouts, exams and quizes and games such as Jeopardy. I believe that all students have the ability to learn and grow as individuals.
