A Little Bit About Me...

I worked as a tutor for the Computer Science department at New Mexico State University. I helped students learn and understand the concepts of the first computer class (CS101) and enjoyed it quite a bit! I have a degree in Journalism and Spanish. I have experience writing for English and Spanish media, particularly for TV and radio. Teaching was my second career choice and sometimes I regret not taking that path. Not only could I tutor those areas, but also Math because I like the challenge of finding only one answer to problems. I enjoy working with people a lot!
I have never been a teacher, but I can speak from a student's perspective. A good teacher is the one that identifies the needs of a student. Along with tutoring college level students, I also worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rapid City as a tutor to elementary level students. Working with children is a passion of mine, and I am patient and willing to use different teaching techniques to ensure that the student is comfortable with the material. Sometimes all a student needs is a new view on the material, and I'm willing to provide that for them.
