As an international educator, I have taught in many different countries, many different subjects to a wide range of students of all ages. This experience has allowed me to develop a unique perspective and presentation style of materials. My primary focus has been in law and business; particularly, entrepreneurial arts and intellectual property. My comments on tutoring Geography : I'm good with maps, as well as locating countries and cities on the globe. I'd mostly provide ways that would help students remember where certain places are located and how to read an actual map.

I'm very laid back, but I know how to get results. I have always been a very disciplined student, but I realized pretty early in my academic career that unless I make the subject interesting for me, I'll never grasp the material. I make it a point to get to know every student so that I can personalize their learning style. The only way they'll learn and understand something is if they WANT to do so. I offer a different approach to things that students may not get in the classroom, to hopefully expand their interest in a subject they never thought they'd like.
I recently obtained my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, where I graduated in the top of my class with a 4.0. I have studied Spanish for over ten years and German for over five years. I have a BA from UCF in foreign language combination. I was a teacher's assistant for a second grade class in 1990 at Winegard Elementary School. I was a hearing-impaired interpreter at a YMCA youth camp for one week in 1990 at Tallahassee. For my last employer, I interpreted Spanish, German, and sign language for cast members and guests on a daily basis for almost 16 years. Additionally, I have tutored math, reading, and spelling for my nieces and nephews at the elementary level. Lastly, I have assisted an elementary school teacher in grading her students' homework and tests upon request occasionally over the last three years.

I graduated with my undergraduate degree in marine biology in 2002 and then worked as a research biologist for two and a half years before returning to school to pursue my master’s degree. I believe that my hands-on scientific experiences combined with my academic background allow me to convey difficult concepts to students. As a researcher and as a student, I have had to put together many written and oral proposals and presentations, so I have the ability to communicate ideas very effectively. Each semester of my graduate school, I taught two science labs to non-science majors.
