I have two years of experience teaching adults in college-level and public adult education settings. Additionally, I have about 3 years of experience working with children from infancy to adolescence and was a lead after-school teacher. My professional business background, entrepreneurial spirit and freelance writing career have aided in the practical development of my English, grammar, financial planning, customer service, sales and marketing skills.

I prefer working as a collaborative team with teaching staff/specialists. I believe most of my success comes from continued conversations and ongoing discussions about best practices during staff meetings and professional development workshops. I believe if we can integrate content with cross-curricular themes and skills such as writing across the curriculum in all subjects, not just during the language arts block, All students can access prior knowledge and reframe their thinking when appropriate. Once we establish accountability through state standards, we need to teach one child at a time, at their own level and pace and eliminate lessons that do not move students toward meeting the standards.
