A Little Bit About Me...

As a special education teacher, I have experience in a variety of settings such as alternative education, partial hospitalization programs, and autistic support programs. I currently teach high school autistic support students in a classroom based program. I have tutored for a private facility as well as through a school district after school program.
As a teacher, my goal is to touch and help the future. I am very creative and pride myself on thinking outside of the box, in order to instruct my students in a non-typical style if necessary. I enjoy making the classroom and learning fun, because it is easier to learn and stay on task. A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children. I believe that children tend to learn best through repetition and making the experience fun. I like to work with flashcards and other such methods. If you take the time with a child they will eventually pick up on what you are trying to teach them. However, there are methods such as acronyms that can be used as well.

A Little Bit About Me...

Most lessons can be taught in various styles but teachers are often faced with a curriculum guideline that they must follow. Often they do not have time to reteach the lesson and students begin to fall behind. With encouragement, guidance, and a new approach, many students can not only "catch up" but also stay succesful in that class.
I have been employed by the Cambria Heights School District for 14 years as a Title 1 educator. I currently am involved in curriculum math and reading.
