A Little Bit About Me...

My experience with teaching and tutoring students is two-fold. I have received my BA in English from Liberty University and am in the process of earning a MA from the same institution. As an English student, I have a good working knowledge of grammar and composition, as well as excellent reading and comprehension skills, and I have tutored students in biology and math. I believe that students of all ages respond to humor, honesty, and respect. Subjects in which that students have difficulty can be made accessible to them by demonstrating to them the humor in learning something hard and the fun of conquering the subject. Learing should be something students enjoy.
I taught 7th grade Language Arts for six years when I lived in Florida. I collaborated on the team that created the Orange County curriculum for teaching writing to the middle grades. This curriculum is still in use today. I worked for the Princeton Review as a tutor doing SAT preparation both privately and in a classroom setting. This was in preparation for both the verbal and math skills sections.
