A Little Bit About Me...

I recently earned a BS in studio art and my interests extend into math, sciences, and reading. This desire for knowledge spurred me to begin a second major in chemistry, enabling me to continue my math and science courses. Additionally I have an associates degree in graphic design. I tutored chemistry at the college level, and have helped my younger siblings with their middle school and high school homework. I have also assisted with elementary age students for years.

Throughout my education at Alfred State University I truly believe I began to understand and appreciate others and their differences. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style depends on the student. Some students need more visual and audio while others depend on memorization. I like to modify my style that suits their needs as a learner. I beleive in comprehension skills, memorization and learning key concepts to help them link connections.
I am currently a substitute teacher and work everyday in one of four school districts in the Rochester area. I enjoy helping and tutoring kids. I teach ESL to adults on Monday and Wednesday nights and that is very similar to tutoring. I believe tutoring is very rewarding as a teacher and for the student.

I am interested in tutoring because I love teaching regardless of the subject matter. I’ve been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to try several different content areas such as Special Education 7th grade Science in a Push-In model, ESOL, Home and Careers, Career and Financial Management as well as substitute teaching in many areas K-12, in addition to teaching technology in multiple districts.
