I have experience teaching readers how to read phonetically through multi sensory learning. I have been trained by Neuhaus Dyslexia Center in Houston, TX. To teach reading, I teach the children to use all the reading strategies used by good readers.Examples of those strategies would be sight words, visual and context clues, and phonics. Then, I prefer to use leveled readers to improve their fluency and comprehension. For writing, after assessing their composition, I work with them to improve where needed skills such as organization, elaboration, complex sentences and transitions. I use hands on materials and lots of practice to teach math. I taught grades kindergarten, first grade and second grade for a total of twenty-six years.
