I believe my teaching style is very adaptive to the age and need of the learner, however, I require parental support, dedication, and willingness on the part of the student to make my tutoring approach successful. My comments on tutoring Political Science : I have my B.A. in History and a minor in Philosophy from the University of Colorado. It would be juxtaposed if anyone claimed to understand Political Science, but I do have a minor in philosophy and I am an avid follower of contemporary politics. Today will be history tomorrow!

A Little Bit About Me...

I recently completed two years of teaching Physical Science in a secondary school in Namibia as a Peace Corps volunteer. Prior to that I earned a BS in Computer Science which included a mathematics minor and courses in physics and chemistry. I tutored throughout my time in the Peace Corps, my undergraduate studies and my high school years.
As a classroom teacher I quickly learned to engage each student individually. I prefer tutoring because I can tailor my instruction to a specific student. Children have different learning styles so it is my responsibility as the instructor to adapt lessons to maximize learning for each child. Ideally I am able to guide a student to realize concepts in their own terms rather then dictate facts to them.

I have worked with students ranging from elementary through high school. My specialties are the following: Language Arts and U.S. History.
