A Little Bit About Me...

I completed to Calculus III at Michigan State University, receiving a 4.0 in Calculus I. I tutored other students while in high school in math and science related classes. I completed AP Chemistry and AP Calculus in high school. While at Haslett, I took chemistry, AP Chemistry and then tutored a chemistry class and then completed chemistry and organic chemistry at MSU.
I do better when the student has a desire to learn the material. I prefer to explain problems and then have the student do them, with me giving feedback and helping explain the problem as we go.

Growing up in a family that did not value an education, I saw education as a way to make a better life for my self than gangs, drugs, and violence. I am the only one in my family to graduate from high school, then college. I firmly believe that education makes a person better by pursuing it. I achieved an Associates in Science, then two Bachelors of Science degrees. In addition, I earned various certifications in Environmental Health due to my job experiences. I have tutored many science classes, math, algebra, history, archery, martial arts, outdoor survival techniques and wildlife studies. I have had many experiences in education both during and after my college education. I have been put into many situations that have required using much of the curriculum content, classroom management, and lesson plan developing skills that I have acquired. I have a major in science, but I also have extensive mathematical skills due to the many math classes I have taken for my BS and while currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Accounting. I just finished my first year of teaching science for grades 6-12 in a remote school in Nevada. It has been noted from a previous employer that I can shift very quickly between different groups of students to adjust to what is developmentally appropriate. I relate very well to both the junior high and high school age levels. I was the 8th grade class advisor and the junior high track coach. I maintained the science curriculum for a seven period, four day school week.
